If you live in Genova (Italy) and your friend happens to root for the other soccer team of the city (and the city offers to sport fans nothing but soccer), well it’s not that easy to… remain friends. unless, of course, you find something that can help to fill the gap. The authors of this blog eventually found this something on the other side of the Atlantic: the Sixers !
A long time passion, sparkled in the early Eighties, that lasted well into the digital age and contributed to overcome the authors’ almost religious feuds over soccer….
That common passion led to this blog, started on November 1st 2006, the day of the opener of the 2006/2007 season.
Born in Genova in 1971, is a free lance public relations consultant and journalist. He’s of slavic descent (serbian and croatian) from his mother’s side of the family.
A Sixers fan since the early Eighties, when italian television started broadcasting NBA games (once a week, Sunday morning… can you imagine that?). Immediately loved those red jerseys, and the player wearing that #6 who could take off and fly over the others. Never stopped since.
Member of the www.philly.com Sixers board, where he posts as “Ricky” (how original..). Considers Manute Bol the greatest Sixer ever and is a proud Korver groupie.

Well, Raffaele picked the latter and resisted as a Sixers fan through many, often not-so-glorious years, up to now. A journalist (or so he calls himself) and a blogger, he is the geeky soul of the duo and tries his best to technologically assist Riccardo’s enthusiam
